Set against the backdrop of covid, the resulting photographs are portraits of isolation, the Australian sublime and spent ambition abandoned service stations, unfinished railways lines and rusted debris. In The Means of Progress lies a carcass of agriculture. Rimmer sets up an ironic tension between the title of his work and its subject the means of progress
