A Chancay Embroidered Textile Panel, ca. 1000 - 1250 CE The A List Carved from turquoise colored feldsparThis is a well preserved embroidered panel from the Chancay textile tradition, made with wool yarns in warm shades of ochre, brown, red, and cream. The design features a diamond lattice motif, each row alternating between a light and dark colro scheme. Inside each diamond is a stylized anthropomorphic figure, depicted upright, with outstretched arms and bandied legs, the negative space filled with either a red or dark brown outline against the panels
