but we prefer to let it climb up bamboo poles or trellises

We love placing them in terra cotta or just letting them hang in their nursery basket. They enjoy bright, indirect or direct light and for their soil to completely dry out between waterings. It's also recommend using orchid or cactus soil when potting up.
