Initially, long leather coats with double breasted fronts and knee length designs were produced. As aircraft became more advanced and airtight, the heavy coats were replaced by waist length jackets like the A 1. Adopted before zippers were practical, the A 1 features a buttoned front for a classic look. The stand collar rib enhances the vintage appearance.
