Description

Oya stone is a tuff (volcanic ash that has accumulated underground or in the sea and solidified over many years) quarried only in the Oya district of Tochigi Prefecture

The Japanese modern form elevates any occasion with a touch of class

making it even sharper for better slicing of bread

earning it the name "sinking wood

The wood is traditionally used for carving Buddhist statues

Edo Glass – Japanese Sake Glass Interior Oya stone is a tuffThis sake vessel was designed by French designer Arthur Leitner and developed in collaboration as a proposal for casual, Western style sake ceremoniesdistinct from traditional Japanese celebrations. It is a piece created with the hope that Japans younger generation will also embrace it. Brume, meaning mist or haze in French, was named for the enchanting image of sake shimmering and swaying through the glass.
