Before zippers became practical, the front used buttons for closure. The A 1 used sheepskin, which, while flexible and easy to move in, was less durable compared to horsehide or steerhide, making surviving examples rare and miraculous finds. This A 1 uses horsehide for enhanced durability. This season's horsehide underwent full vegetable
