A Montana snowstorm clears shortly before sunset

It had been a day of low clouds that only began to break during the final moments of sunlight

but can be created in many more

These amazing animals don't move down from the high country during winter

I photographed the entire Bridger Mountain Range as the sun touched the top of Sacajawea Peak

Snow Plow Size and Medium:33x50 archival print A Montana snowstorm clears shortlyA big horn ram breaks through a drift above the Shoshone River in Wyoming. These amazing animals have, for my money, the most beautiful eyes in the animal kingdom. This photograph contrasts beautiful light on the ram with the background lost in shadow, accentuating his effort to move through the snow, flying up in the foreground. It's offered as a signed and numbered limited edition and ships free to the lower 48.
