To create this piece light colored slip (liquid clay) was applied to various shapes of brown clay slabs. The slip was then carved away (sgraffito technique) to reveal different designs. My son Wyatt encouraged me to change the order of the components so that the water droplets could have double meaning: tears falling from eyes, and raindrops falling on trees.
