The restoration was performed by Fred Kretchman. The original writing on the rod couldn't be saved. There are small chips and scrapes in the varnish throughout the rod. The hood on the reel seat is a bit loose, this does not hinder use though. Lastly, there are fishing sets in both tips. The rod is tempered to a dark pumpkin color with
