However, we only got as far as Seaforth, about 50 km north and another 20 or so km to the coast from Mackay. Seaforth is a gorgeous unspoiled seaside village. We stayed 7 weeks. We had car troubles that meant we had to revisit our plans and review our journey back south so we decided to take a route we hadnt travelled before, the New England Highway from Rockhampton
