Unusual vintage art deco table lamp base consisting of five trumpet shaped cones mounted on a brown Bakelite circular plate

The base is constructed from light square-sectional tubular chrome plated steel designed in a large rectangle with an elegant cross supporting base which stabilises the light

The chairs are made from Afrormosia Teak wood and have been newly reupholstered with new padding and pale grey wool weave fabric by Bute Fabrics

Each bulb sits within a square chromed metal plate which fits into a chrome fitting

The "chair" was commissioned for the controversial Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano's Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris who conceived the idea for the chair. The chair is constructed from a heavy and very well made tubular steel structure. The padded seat and back are made from their original leather and held in place with round steel feature flat
