What the show asks and has always asked of its viewers is to appreciate Carrie's sense of style as a part of who she is: someone who loves fashion for fashion's sake and takes risks with it

It is to keep the eye moving smoothly up and down rather than stopping it partway

The warm tone glows under Edison-bulb and candlelit lighting

Due to the longer trains, petticoats had to be worn underneath in order to keep the dress clean

Details such as asymmetrical hemlines or spiral pleats that end in dancing ruffles add volume and movement, inviting to appreciate the tailoring

Id style this midi dress with tall boots and a fringe shawl to lean into the western vibe
