Description

mtg astarion card Amazon.com: Secret Lair: Astarion's Thirst (Foil Edition) : Toys & Games Friends You gain life equal to the amount of life you gained this turn. MTG Astarion, the Decadent Commander

Its an impressive power boost but, at only five mana, youd best believe theres a drawback

The power bump gives the deck some aggression and ensures you get value from the trigger if you cant play the card

Agent of the Iron Throne is a redundant effect for any number of aristocrats commanders, and one thats sure to see some play

There are ways around this, though

Between enter the battlefield effects, triggered abilities, and other synergies, it's often the case that playing a creature provides an opponent with much more value than just the creature's board presence
